A closed can of soda is thrown in the sea. After reaching some depth, it gets crushed . What is the reason behind this phenomenon? If we take it to Mount Everest , what will happen?

Closed can of soda is crushed after sinking a considerable depth as the water pressure increase. If we take it to Mount Everest it would not be affected but if we go a bit higher it would explode as the surrounding air pressure would be less than the pressure exerted by the soda on the walls of can
