Given:

⇒ Diameter of cylindrical tank = 3.5 m.

⇒ Radius of the cylindrical tank = 1.75 m.

⇒ Height = 8 m.

(i)

We know that volume of tank = πr^2h

⇒ (22/7) * (1.75)^2 * 8

⇒ 9.625 * 8

⇒ 77m^3.

(ii)

We know that Lateral surface area = 2πrh

⇒ 2 * (22/7) * (1.75) * (8)

⇒ 2 * 22 * 0.25 * 8

⇒ 88.

Total amount to be painted = LSA + Area of circle

⇒ 88 + [(22/7) * (1.75)^2]

⇒ 88 + [9.625]

⇒ 97.625.

∴Cost of painting per m^2 = 5.

Cost of painting 97.625 m^2 = 5 * 97.625

                                                = 488.125

                                                = 488.13.

Therefore:

Volume of the tank = 77m^3.

Total amount = 488.13

Hope this helps!
