surface area of closed cylindrical tank = 2πR (h+r)
                                                             = 2*22/7*7 (5+7)
                                                             = 528 m²
∴ 528 m² of metal sheet will be required.

The required sheet of metal is 528 m².

Step-by-step explanation:

It is given that a closed cylindrical tank of diameter 14m and height 5m is made from a sheet of metal.

Diameter = 14m

d=14

r=\frac{d}{2}=\frac{14}{2}=7m

h=5m

Area of cylinder is

Area=2\pi r(r+h)

where, r is radius and h is height of the cylinder.

Substitute r=7, \pi=\frac{22}{7} and h=5 in the above formula.

Area=2(\frac{22}{7}) (7)(7+5)

Area=44(12)

Area=528

Therefore, the required sheet of metal is 528 m².
