Given:

  • Radius of the closed cylindrical tank is 7m
  • Height of the closed cylindrical tank is 3m.

To find:

  • How much sheet of metal is required ?

Solution:

• Let's consider the metal sheet required is TSA.

Where,

  • Radius = r = 7m
  • Height = h = 3m

• Let Height & radius be h & r.

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Now, By using TSA formula,

Total Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πr(h + r)

→ 2 × 22/7 × 7 × (3 + 7)

→ 2 × 22/7 × 7 × 10

→ 2 × 22 × 10

→ 44 × 10

→ 440cm²

∴ Hence, Sheet of metal required is 440cm².

⠀⠀⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀⠀

Formulas related to it :

  • Area of base of cylinder = πr²

  • Curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh

  • Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)

  • Volume of cylinder = πr²h

Answer -

440 m²

Given :

  • A closed cylindrical tank of radius 7m.
  • Height = 3m .

To find :

  • How much sheet of metal is required .

Solution :

Total surface area of the cylinder

\bf{\;\;\blue{ = 2\pi \times r(h + r)}}

\bf{\;\;\red{ = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 3(7 + 3) = 44 \times 10= 440m {}^{2}  }}

Hence , Sheet of metal required is 440m²
