A cloth having an area of 165 m2 is shaped into the form of a conical tent of radius 5 m (i) How many students can sit in the tent if a student, on an average, occupies 5 2 7 m on the ground? (ii) Find the volume of the cone.

(i) area of base = πr²
= 22/7 • 5²
= (22• 25/7) cm²
no. of students =

area of base/area occupied by one student
= (22• 25/7)/7
= 22•25•7/7
= 22•25
= 550
