volume of cone is 241.816 m3

110 students can occupy the ground

height is 9.233m if needed

nellijames2003: formulae i used.
nellijames2003: equated area with csa of conical tent
nellijames2003: secondly
nellijames2003: x times 5 sevenths is equal to area of base circlw

Given

Curved surace area of cone = 165\ \text{m}^2

r = Radius of base = 5 m

Area that a person occupies is \dfrac{5}{7}\ \text{m}^2

To find

Number of people that can sit on the ground in the tent

Solution

Area of the circular base is

\pi r^2=\pi 5^2\\ =78.54\ \text{m}^2

Number of people that sit on the base will be the area of the base divided by the area that one person requires

\dfrac{78.54}{\dfrac{5}{7}}=109.956\approx 110

So, the number of people that can sit on the base of the tent is approximately 110.
