a cloth merchant has announced 25% rebate in price. if one need to have a rebate of rupees 40 then how many shirt costing rupees 32 he should purchase?

Hey,

Let the amount of shirt be x.
Given in the question,
x* 25/100= 40Rs.
x/4= 40Rs.
x= 40×4=160Rs.
To get a rebate of 40Rs , shirts worth of 160Rs should be purchased.
Price of shirt= 32Rs.
So 160/32= 5 shirt of 32Rs/Shirt should be purchased to get a rebate of 40Rs.
