Given info : A coil of wire enclosing an area 100 cm² is placed with its plane making an angle 60° with the magnetic field of strength 0.1 T.

To find : the flux through the coil. If the magnetic field is reduced to zero in 10¯³ s then, induced emf.

solution : magnetic flux, Φ = NBAcosθ

Here, Number of turns, N = 1

magnetic field, B = 0.1 T

area, A = 100 cm² = 0.01 m²

angle, θ = 60°

now, Φ = 1 × 0.1 × 0.01 × cos60° = 5 × 10¯⁴ Weber

Now, magnitude of induced emf = dΦ/dt

= 5 × 10¯⁴/10¯³ = 0.5 volts.

Therefore the magnetic flux is 5 × 10¯⁴ Weber and induced emf is 0.5 volts.
