A coil P is connected to a torch bulb and placed to another coil Q as shown in figure below:
Explain the following observations:
(i) Bulb lights and
(ii) bulb gets dimmer, if the coil P is moves upwards.

Explanation:

(I) Bulb glows because current is induced from coil Q to coil P.

(II) Bulb gets dimmer if coil P moves upwards because the magnetic field gets weaker as we move away from the coil Q. So, bulb gets dimmer.
