A coin is placed in a tumbles, water is then filled in the tumbler to a height of 20cm. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, calculate the apparent depth of the coin.

Virtual Depth of the coin is 15−3.75=11.25cm

Refractive index =

virtual depth

real depth

=15/11.25=1.33
