A coin is placed inside beaker, containing water to a height of 2 m. What is the apparent depth of the coin from the surface of water? (R.I. of water )

RI= \dfrac{ real \ depth} {apparent \ depth}

1.33= \dfrac{2}{apparent \ depth}

apparent \ depth = 1.503 m

The height by which it appears to be raised is 2-1.503= 0.49m
