The number of times that head has occurred is 20.

• Given,

Number of times the coin is tossed = 50

Percentage chances of appearance of tail in the entire event = 60 %

• Let the the total chances of occurrence of head and tail in the entire event be taken as 100 %.

• Since percentage chances of occurrence of tail in the entire event is 60 %, the percentage chances of occurrence of head will be (100 - 60) % = 40 %.

• Now, the number of times of tossing the coin is 50.

Therefore, 40 % of 50 = (40 / 100) × 50 = 20

• Hence, the head has occurred altogether 20 times in the event .
