Answer:

When a coin is tossed twice, the sample space is :

S = { HH, HT, TH, TT }

n (S) = 4

Let 'A' be the event where the coins have same face :

A = { HH, TT }

n (A) = 2

p (A) = n (A) / n (S)

= 2 / 4

= 1 / 2

Hope this helps you :)

Answer:

P(E) = 1/2 = 0.5

Explanation:

Let s be the event of tossing the coin.

s= {HH,TT,HT,TH}

n(s) = 4

Now, let E be the event of getting the same face.

E = {TT,HH}

n(E) = 2

so, the probability of getting same face , P(E) =n(E)/n(S)

                                                        ∴        P(E)  =2/4 = 1/2 = 0.5

Hence ,the probability of getting the same face = 1/2 = 0.5
