ANSWER

A coin is tossed twice

The sample space is : s

1

={HH,HT,TH,TT}

If the second toss shows a tail (HT,TT), then a die is rolled and it sample space is:

S

2

(1,2,3,4,5,6)

If the second toss shows a rail (HH,TH) then there is no further action.

Hence the contained sample space is:

S={HH, TH,HT1,HT2,HT3,HT4,HT5,HT6,TT1,TT2,TT3,TT4,TT5,TT6}
