A coin of radius 4cm was dropped on square slab of side 12cm. The probability that it will fall within the slide is,

Consider the figure while going thorough the following steps

As we need to find the probability that a coin will fall within the slide, so we should restrict the center of coin to the small square.

Side of the small square is 12 - (4 + 4) = 12 - 8 = 4

Therefore, the area of small square is = a = 4² = 16 cm²

Area of bigger square (slide) = A = 12² = 144 cm²

Therefore the probability that the coin will fall within the slide is

P(C) = 16/144 = 1/9
