Colloid seems to be an homogenous mixture but it is a heterogeneous mixture. In a solution the solute and solvent is completely dissolved or mixed with each other and cannot be distinguishable and also cannot be separated . This all properties r of homogeneous mixture .
If it is heterogeneous mixture then it is not a solution it is suspension or colloid

A solution is a mixture .....( no matter it is homo or heter)
A mixture is combination of two or more substances .
So it can be heterogeneous mixture because its particles are much enough larger and can be seen with naked eyes.
