A colonizing country exploits the resources as well as the people of the subjugated country to promote its own interests because the colonization happened with motives.
Their aim is to rule and control people for the benefits and so that they can extract the maximum wealth of the country. This could understand by citing the example of the Colonization of India by Britishers. The aim with which British East India Company colonized India was exploiting its natural resource by controlling the population with the use of arms and extracting the maximum wealth of India to their country. This extraction of wealth was apprehended with the theory of drain of wealth by scholars.
