phospholipids are a class of lipids that are a major component of all cell memberane. they can from lipid bilayers because of their amphiphilik characteristics. the structure of the phospholipid molecule generally consiste of two hydrofobic fatty acid 'tails' and a hydrofolic 'head' consisting of a phosphate group.
