First term ( a ) = 400

Common Difference ( d ) = 35.

Let in  ' n ' years number of employees will be 785.

n th term = a + ( n - 1 ) d

785 = 400  + ( n - 1 ) 35

785 = 400 + 35 n - 35

35 n = 785 - 400 + 35

35 n = 820 - 400

35 n = 420

n = 420 / 35

n = 12.

The 12th year the number of employees in the company will be 785.

First year + 11 years = 12th year
2001 + 11 = 2012

So, in year 2012 the number of employees in the company will be 785.
