Two reasons why the company decides to issue the software on CD ROM and not on floppy disc are as follows-

1.Storage capacity-Floppy disc is a magnetic storage medium with only 1.44 M capacity, while a CD is an optical disc that can store 700M CDs .Hence, CDs have relatively larger storage capacity.

2.Stability - The CD media is much more stable and reliable in terms of keeping the data intact than the floppy. The floppy disk is read by a head in contact with the recording media.
