Recently Assam and Arunachal Pradesh has faced a serious damage due to flood. This year Assam has experienced pre-monsoon and this leads to rise in water level in Brahmaputra River which caused flooding of most of the districts in Assam. Whereas in Arunachal Pradesh main reason of flood was continuous rains fall.
Most affected area of Assam was Morigaon because it is located in lower region whereas in Arunachal Pradesh Dibang Valley and Kameng district was most affected.
For mitigation in Assam 5,000 km of embankments have been built by government where as in Arunachal Pradesh dam is being made to stop the flow of water.
