then the needle points towards north pole of bar magnet, as the marked N pole of compass is south pole of magnet in compass.

maheshwarahardh: N is marked on south pole of magnet in compass or the needle
maheshwarahardh: when we get a magnet near a compass N side will point towards north pole of that magnet

Heya friend!   When a compass needle is kept in the centre of a bar magnet, it will allign itself along the length of the magnet with its South Pole towards the north pole of the magnet.   Hope helps!
