Answer :

Total prize money,T = Rs 2,50,000

Top three contestants share the prize money in the ratio of 1 : 3 : 6

Suppose the 3rd person gets Rs x,
So 2nd person gets Rs 3x,
And 1st person gets Rs 6x.

But as we know,
x + 3x + 6x = 250000
=> 10x = 250000
=> x = 25000

So 3rd person gets Rs 25000.
&
2nd person gets Rs 25000×3 = Rs 75000
&
1st person gets Rs 25000×6 = Rs 1,50,00

●So the highest prize money is Rs 1,50,000
& option (d) is correct.

Let the ratio number be x
so,1st prize is 1x
2nd prize is 3x
3rd prize is 6x
and total prize is 2,50,000
By question,
1x+3x+6x=2,50,000
10x=2,50,000
x=250000/10
x=25000
then,1×25000=25000 1st prize
3×25000=75000 2nd prize
6×25000=150000 3rd prize
finally , the highest prize give is 150000
