A completes a work in 8 days,. A and B working together complete the same work 4 whole 4 by 5 days. how long would B take to complete the same work




the ans is 12 but I don't know the solution plz solve this ques ​

A = 8 = 8/1

A + B = 4⁴/5 = 24/5

Invert both

So,

one day work of A - 1/8

A + B = 5/24

B = 5/24 - 1/8

LCM of 24 and 8 is 24

1/8 = 3/24

5/24 - 3/24 = 2/24

2/24 = 1/12

Invert 1/12 and the answer is 12

To find:

           how long would B take to complete the same work

solution:

The equations according to the question are:

         A+B=4\frac{4}{5}\\                 A=8  

 now,

        we convert mixed fraction to improper fraction

         A+B=\frac{24}{5}____(i)

by substituting the A value in (i)

        8+B=\frac{24}{5}

        B=\frac{24}{5}-8\\\\B=\frac{24}{5}-\frac{8X5}{5}\\\\B=\frac{24}{5}-\frac{40}{5}  \\\\B=\frac{24-40}{5}    \\\\B=\frac{16}{5} =3\frac{1}{5}

Answer:     ∴  B takes 3\frac{1}{5} days to complete the work
