Dextran

This bacteria produces dextran when supplied with sucrose ,this bacteria is used in profile modification.Production of dextran involves three steps: Saccharide utilization, cell generation and dextran production. In this mechanism of dextran production , the sucrose is first broken down into glucose and fructose and then subsequent production of  complex polysaccharide  dextran.
