A composite wall in a cold region comprises of three layers. The ambient temperature is
-15 degree Celsius whereas inner room temperature is maintained at 20 degree Celsius.
The details of layers are as follows:
Outermost layer of thermal conductivity 0.75 W/m-deg and thickness =15cm Innermost
wood panel layer of thermal conductivity 0.2W/m-deg and thickness = 1.25cm
Intermediate layer having thermal resistance twice offered by the outermost layer with
thickness = 7.5cm
Calculate the heat loss from room to the ambient conditions. Also calculate the thermal
conductivity of the intermediate layer.
