A compound 'A' reacts with sulphuric acid to produce a gas 'B'. 'B' undergoes hydrogenation to give propane . what is 'A' and 'B' ?​

we must answer this in reverse. if a compound is hydrogenated to form propane, then this substance gains H atoms from this process. so, try to remove H atoms one by one and identify the first compound that you get. the first compound that you get must be propene/ propylene. therefore you know that Compound 'B' is Propene/ Propylene. Now, Suphuric Acid is an oxidator, which means that this compound has lost some of its Hydrogen. so, we trace back the lost Hydrogen atoms, the first compound you get will be Propane, so Compound 'A' is Propane
