To find the compound create a table with Carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen along the top. Down the side put %, Ar, %/Ar and ratio.

The % of crabon - 38.8%, hydrogen - 16% and nitrogen - 45.2%.

The Ar of carbon - 12, hydrogen - 1 and nitrogen - 14.

Do % divided by Ar which is carbon - 3.23, hydrogen - 16 and nitrogen - 3.22.

To find the ratio divide them each by the smallest of them (nitrogen - 3.22).

Carbon - 1, hydrogen - 5 and nitrogen - 1.

Then put this into the formula to make CH₅N.
