first we should calculate hydrogen 4.05/1= 4.05

then carbon 24.27/12= 2.02

then chlorine 71.65/35.5= 2.01

then the smallest one is divided by all other elements

so hydrogen= 4.05/2.01=2.01

carbon= 2.02/2.01= 1

cl= 2.01) 2.01= 1

then empirical formula= (H2CCl)

then we should calculate empirical mass= 2+12+35.5= 49.5gms

then molar mass = 98.96gms

then n= 98.96/49.5

= 1.99

= 2

then molecular formula =(H2CCl) n

= H4C2Cl2
