Hi there,

Given :

● Molar ratio is C:H:O= 3:3:1

● C Atomic mass = 12

● O atomic mass = 16

● H atomic mass = 1

● Empirical formula is C3H3O

♧ Molar mass of empirical formula is

12×3+3+16 = 55 gm

♧ Molar mass of the molecular formula can calculated by divide sample mass over number of moles

◇ Mwt = ms÷ n = 1÷6.06*10^-3 = 165 g/mol

♤ So, the number of coefficient

Molar mass of molecular formula divide over molar mass of empirical formula ,

◇ 165÷ 55 = 3

So,

♧ The molecular formula is

《C9H9O3》
