a compound is is always a homogeneous mixture because its properties as homogeneous , so homogeneous properties are:-

(1)two components mixes in such a way that particles are not visible,

2) it doesn't passes the light provided by the other side of this

3) its size is 10 nm or less than that, so light is not passing through it

4) cannot be separated by physical methods like fractional distillation, funniling etc.

while a mixture is also called a solution because the two or more substance is mixed in such a way that it can be separated by physical method like funnaling, distillation,etc.and it always show heterogeneous properties.
