Mass of X is given compound = 24g

Mass of oxygen in the given compound= 64 g

so total mass of the compound = 24 + 64 == 88 g

% of X in the compound = 24/88.100 = 27.3 %

% of oxygen in comp. = 64/88.100 = 72.7 %

Element % of atomic mass ratio is simplest ratio

X 27:3:12 = 27.3/12 = 2.27:1

OX. 72.7:16 = 72.2/16 = 4.54:2

So, The Smplest Formula == XO2
