Hey !!

Let us cosider the number of  atoms Y in ccp = N

Number of octahedral voids = N × 1 = N

Number of atoms of X = N

Now, Ratio of X : Y = N : N = 1 : 1

Hence, formula of the compound = XY

Hope it helps you !!

Answer: XY

Explanation:

Atoms of the element  Y (as anions) make ccp and those of the element X (as cations) occupy  all the octahedral voids.

Suppose : The atoms Y in the cubic close packing = n

Therefore number of octahedral voids = no of atoms in the packing = n

Thus cations X in all the octahedral voids= n

Thus the ratio of X: Y is n:n or 1: 1 and the formula will be XY.
