A compound X is formed by the reaction of carboxylic acid C2H2O4 and an alcohol in the presence of conc. H2SO4. This alcohol on treating with akaline KMnO4 gives the same carboxylic acid used in the reaction. Give the name and structure of carboxylic acid and alcohol. when Carboxylic CH3COOH and alcohol C2H5OH is react in the presence of H2SO4 it gives the compound X i.e Ester.....
CH3COOH + C2H5OH---------::= CH3COOCH2CH3 + H2O. (X)
