a) Name of the compound 'X' is sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydrogen carbonate. Its common name is baking soda and its chemical formula is NaHCO3.

b) On decomposing, NaHCO3 gives out sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), water and carbon dioxide.

c) Sodium bicarbonate or baking soda is also used as an ingredient while making a cake to set the dough and increase its volume.
