X-ethanol
Y-ethene
Z-Hydrogen gas

equation -

Ethanol + Conc.H2SO4----------->ethene + H2O

Role of sulphuric acid - it acts as a dehydrating agent i.e., it helps in removing water from the compound with which it reacts
