The compound X is Ethanol ( CH2CH3OH )

Compound Y is Ethene ( CH2= CH2. Or C2H4 )

Gas Z is Hydrogen gas ( H2 )

The reactions are ::-

1) Ethanol to give Ethene with conc. H2SO4 at 443K

CH₂CH₃OH ------> CH₂ = CH₂ + H₂O

2) Ethanol with sodium

CH2CH3OH + Na -------> CH2CH3ONa + H2

HOPE IT HELPS YOU!!

X is Ethanol

Y is Ethene [Unsaturated compound]

Z is H2 gas

C2H5OH  in the presence of H2SO4 > C2H4 =H2O

C2H5OH  + Na ...> C2H5ONa + H2
