Compound Y= ethene
gas z= hydrogen

sulphuric acid is use as dehydrating agent.

X is ethanol(C2H5OH)
Y is ethene(C2H4)
Z is hydrogen gas.
C2H5OH= C2H4+H20.
heat+hot conc.H2SO4
sulphuric acid act as adehydrating agent.
