compund x is ethanol(C2H5OH) when ethanol is treated with concentrated sulphuric acid than an unsaturated compound of Ethanol called ethene formed so, compound y is ethene(CH2=CH2).

when ethanol reacts with sodium then the colourless gas hydrogen is formed so the colorless Z is hydrogen(H) .
