let the sample equals 100 gram

therefore

amount of sulphur in the sample equals to 50.05gm

and amount of oxygen in the sample 49.95 gm

moles of sulfur in the = 50.05 / 32 = 1.56

moles of oxygen = 3.121

multiplying both the number of moles by 2 to reach nearest natural number

so the empirical formula = Sn O2n

hope it will help you
