Step-by-step explanation:

Given A computer mechanic in Delhi charges repairing cost of Rs. 5500/- with a discount of 30% from A and charges repairing cost of Rs.3500/- with a discount of 40% from B. If the rate of GST is 18%, find the total money (including GST) received by the mechanic from both A & B

  • So total repairing cost will be 5500 + 3500 = 9000
  • So repairing cost for A = Rs 5500 and discount is 30%.
  • Therefore Discount = 5500 x 30 / 100
  •                                = Rs 1650
  • So repairing cost for B = Rs 3500 and discount is 40%
  • Therefore Discount = 3500 x 40 / 100
  •                               = Rs 1400
  • So total discount will be 1650 + 1400
  •                                       = Rs 3050
  • So GST = Total repairing cost x 18 / 100
  •              = 9000 x 18 / 100
  •                  = Rs 1620
  • So total money received by mechanic = total repairing cost – total discount + GST
  •                                                             = 9000 – 3050 + 1620
  •                                                           = Rs 7570
