A computer system was designed to have a good latest processor and I/O devices, however the designer of the computer did not put any RAM in it. The computer does have a hard disk of 1 tera-byte. Will this computer be able to execute programs? Explain giving justification in support of your answer.

No, a computer cannot function without RAM even if it has other things. A RAM is necessary as the computer stores data in it for short-term use, and without RAM the computer cannot fetch this data and work on any topic.

RAM functions along with the hard drive and works in tandem to it.

Without a RAM, the computer would take noticeable time accessing data from the hard drive as it has moving parts. The RAM doesn't have moving parts and is faster than Hard Drive.
