No of words = 8K

Size of each word = 32bits

8k words can be addressed with (213)

so we need 13 bits to address 8k words

Given,

Number of words = 8k with 32 bits each

1 byte is to 8 bits

To FInd,

The total bytes can this memory contain in total =?

Solution,

The total number of bits = 8k * 32

The number of bytes for 8 bits = 1

The number of bytes for 1 bit = 1 / 8

The number of bytes for (8k * 32) bits = (8k * 32) / 8

The number of bytes for (8k * 32) bits = 32k

Hence, this memory can contain 32k bytes in total.
