Answer:

Here, Image is at 10cm behind the mirror and is virtual and erect. Magnification of the lens is (-1).

Explanation:

Here, As per our given question,

=Focal length of the lens=5cm

=Distance of the object(U)=10cm

=Distance of Image from the lens(V)=?

So, By applying lens formula, we get,

=1/V-(1/-U)=1/f

=1/V=1/f+(1/U)

=1/V=1/5+(1/10)

After taking Lcm and solving it, we get,

=1/V=[2+1]/10

=1/V=1/10

On doing reciprocal on both sides, we get,

=V=10/1cm

=V=10cm

Here, As it is a Concave lens, The Image is Virtual and erect and is 10cm behind the mirror.

Now, Magnification(M)=V/U

=M=10/-10

=M=1/(-1)

=M=(-1)

So, here Magnification of the lens is (-1).

Thank you.
