We  need to calculate the position of the image

Using formula of magnification

m =-\dfrac{v}{u}

2=-\dfrac{v}{u}

v = -2u

We need to calculate the position of the object

Using formula of lens

\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{f}+\dfrac{1}{u}

Put the value into the formula

\dfrac{1}{-2u}=\dfrac{1}{15}+\dfrac{1}{u}

\dfrac{1}{15}=\dfrac{1}{-2u}-\dfrac{1}{u}

\dfrac{1}{-15}=\dfrac{1}{2u}

2u=-15

u =-7.5\ cm
