Given that angle subtended by the image of sun is θ = 30' = 1/2 × π/180 = π/360.

Diameter of the image of sun is -

D = f × θ

D = 100 × π/360

D = 100 × 3.142/360

Hence, diameter of image of sun is 0.8727 cm.
