=>v=-3u

given r=30 cm  => f=r/2 = 15cm

using mirror formula

1/v + 1/u =1/f

where v=-3u, u=u and f=-15

-1/3u + 1/u = -1/15

=>u= -10 cm

v=-3u = -3(-10) = +30cm

∴v-u = 30 - (-10)

        =40 cm
