magnification= -3cm ( because mirror magnifies real image)
u = -10cm
v=?
magnification = -v/u
-3 = -v/-10
v = -30cm
hence, the image will form in front of the mirror at the distance of 30cm

ragu14: ALITER:

Given:
u=-10cm
Also image size is three times the object size.
Therefore v=3x-10 =-30cm.
ragu14: Sorry -30cm
ragu14: This is smaller than your answer!!

ANSWER

Given magnification m=3

and object distance u=10 cm and we know,

Magnification m= u−v−v=3×−10

v=30 cm

Thus the image is formed at distance of 30 cm.
