Given

  • Mirror used = Concave
  • It produces 3 times magnification
  • Object distance = -10 cm

To Find

  • Position of the image

Solution

☯ Magnification = -v/u

  • Where v is the image distance and u is the object distance

✭ According to the Question :

➞ M = -v/u

  • M = Magnification = 3 times
  • v = Image distance = ?
  • u = Object distance = -10 cm

➞ 3 = -v/(-10)

➞ 3 = v/10

➞ 3 × 10 = v

➞ Image distance = 30 cm

∴ The I age of the object would be at 30 cm behind the mirror

Given :-

A concave mirror produces 3times magnified image of an object placed at 10 cm in front of mirror

To Find :-

Position

Solution :-

We know that

m = -v/u

Where

m = magnification

v = image distance

u = object distance

3 = -v/-10

3 × -10 = -v

-30 = -v

30 = v

The object is behind\\ the mirror by 30 cm
