Answer:

Environmental contamination has many different effects, and these include diseases that can affect practically all organ systems.

Explanation:

  • Air pollutants are typically divided into three categories: gaseous pollutants (gases and vapors); suspended particle matter (PM) (dusts, fumes, mists, and smokes); and odors.
  • Gaseous pollutants include halogen derivatives like aldehydes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, sulfur compounds like SO2 and sulfur trioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen compounds like nitric oxide, NO2, and ammonia, organic molecules like hydrocarbons, and volatile organic compounds.
  • All of the primary pollutants released during combustion have been linked to an increase in cardiovascular and respiratory morbidity and mortality.
  • Because such rivers are frequently used directly as drinking water sources or connected to shallow wells used for drinking water, chemical contamination of surface water can pose health problems. Additionally, rivers play crucial roles in recreation, fishing, and fish farming. They are also used for cleaning and washing.
  • Groundwater is another important source of drinking water, and because it passes through layers of sand, clay, or rocks beneath the ground, it frequently has low quantities of germs.
